Pendant trois semaines j’ai côtoyé les arbres autour du refuge et développé un travail d’écriture fragmentaire faisant le récit de mes perceptions et de la relation interspécifique tissée avec les arbres grâce à la grimpe.
Pour la restitution des textes produits, j’ai élaboré une mise en scène dans la forêt, pour laquelle les spectateurs m’ont rejoint parmi les arbres. J’y ai mêlé des lectures de textes, des performances de grimpe et de l’expression corporelle. Ainsi lors de la performance, je déployais un vocabulaire gestuel qui ponctuait la prise de parole. Certaines images, certaines idées étaient retransmises par les mots et d’autres par le corps. Il s’agissait après tout d’un corps qui raconte l'histoire de sa rencontre avec un autre corps. Le langage corporel apparaît avec évidence comme un de nos communs avec les arbres.
L’expression de ces gestes peut être la manifestation de ce qu’il reste dans mon corps après la grimpe, comme si mon corps était habité par les arbres parcourus ou parfois même animés par eux.
For three weeks, I spent time with the trees around the refuge and developed a fragmentary
writing process, describing my perceptions and the interspecific relationship forged with the
trees through climbing.
For the presentation of the texts produced, I imagined a staging in the forest, for which the spectators joined me among the trees. I combined readings, climbing performances and physical expression. During the performance, I deployed a gestural vocabulary that punctuated the speaking. Some images and ideas were conveyed through words, others through the body. After all, this performance is about a body telling the story of its encounter with another body. Body language is clearly one of the things we have in common with trees.
The expression of these gestures can be the manifestation of what remains in my body after
the climb, as if my body was inhabited by the trees I've climbed, or sometimes even animated by them.
